Why Was the Exam Postponed?
The Central Government officially revised the date of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) festival to 28 May 2026. Following this, the Telangana State Minority Employees Service Association submitted a representation to the Commission requesting postponement of the exams scheduled on that date. Respecting the sentiments of minority employees and ensuring fair opportunity for all candidates, TGPSC officially postponed the 28 May 2026 exams.
This is not an isolated decision. Across Telangana, multiple exams scheduled on 28 May 2026 including TS PGECET 2026 and CUET UG 2026 were also rescheduled due to the same Bakrid holiday date change.

Which Papers Were Affected?
As per the TGPSC May 2026 session timetable, the exams originally scheduled on 28 May 2026 have been rescheduled to 03 June 2026. Candidates appearing for these papers must download fresh hall tickets from 30 May 2026 onwards. Check the official TGPSC website for the paper-wise revised schedule.

About TGPSC Departmental Tests
The Telangana Public Service Commission conducts Departmental Tests twice a year, May Session and November Session, for government employees working across various departments of Telangana State. These exams are mandatory for career progression and promotions within the government sector. The tests are conducted in online CBT mode and cover a wide range of subjects depending on the department and the employee’s post.
Only employees currently working in the respective departments of Telangana State are eligible to appear. Secretariat employees, where rules permit, can also appear for tests to gain eligibility for transfers or promotions to other services.
