Paper II is where the real game is. It covers:

Inorganic Chemistry: Atomic structure, periodic table, chemical bonding, coordination compounds, chemistry of s, p, d, and f block elements, extraction of metals, nuclear chemistry.

Organic Chemistry: Aliphatic and aromatic compounds, stereochemistry, biomolecules (carbohydrates, amino acids, fats), reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy basics.

Physical Chemistry: Thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, electrochemistry, phase rule, colligative properties, colloids, photochemistry, catalysis.

Environmental and Analytical Chemistry: This section is gold for this exam specifically. Air, water, soil, noise pollution, treatment technologies, water quality analysis, volumetric and gravimetric analysis, chromatography, UV, IR, NMR spectroscopy. Because you are applying to a Pollution Control Board, expect heavy focus on environmental chemistry topics.

Smart Preparation Tips

Focus on Environmental Chemistry first. You are applying to a Pollution Control Board, and the syllabus explicitly covers air, water, soil, noise pollution, treatment technologies, and water quality standards in detail. This is your biggest scoring edge.

For Physical Chemistry, practice numerical problems daily especially thermodynamics, kinetics, and electrochemistry. For Organic Chemistry, master reaction mechanisms and stereochemistry. For General Studies, focus on Telangana-specific topics: history, culture, economy, and current affairs related to the state.

Solve previous TGPSC question papers to understand difficulty level and question patterns. Topics like coordination compounds, thermodynamics, and environmental pollution tend to repeat across exams.

Documents to Keep Ready

Before you begin your application, keep these scanned and ready: educational qualification certificates, SSC certificate for date of birth proof, community certificate (for SC, ST, BC candidates issued by a Tahsildar), Non-Creamy Layer certificate (for BC candidates), EWS income certificate (for EWS candidates), disability certificate in SADAREM format (for PwD candidates), sports certificate (if claiming sports quota), and a recent passport-size photograph.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an interview round? No. Selection is purely based on written exam marks. No interview whatsoever.

Can candidates from other states apply? Yes. But reservation benefits apply only to Telangana residents.

Is there negative marking? The official notification does not mention negative marking. Exact instructions will appear on the Hall Ticket.

Can the application be modified after submission? Generally no. Double check everything before clicking submit.

Is there a waiting list? No waiting list is maintained as per government rules. Unfilled vacancies are carried forward to the next recruitment.

What happens if two candidates score equal marks? Tiebreakers are applied in this order: local Telangana candidates get priority, then older candidates by date of birth, then marks in the Chemistry paper, then date of passing, then percentage in qualifying exam.

Final Word

20 seats. One exam. No interview. A permanent government post at a top state regulatory body with a salary touching Rs. 1.24 lakh per month at the top of the scale. If you have Chemistry in your degree, there is genuinely no reason to miss this one.

Apply before 25 May 2026. Prepare smart. Focus on environmental chemistry. And keep checking tgpsc.gov.in regularly for hall ticket and exam date updates.
