Big news, OU students. If your exam was scheduled for 28th May 2026 (Thursday) — breathe. It’s been postponed. And the new dates are officially out.
Here’s everything you need to know — fast, clear, and no confusion.
Why Were OU Exams Postponed?
The Telangana Government declared 28th May 2026 as a public holiday on account of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid / Eid-ul-Azha). Originally, the holiday was announced for May 27, but since the crescent moon was not sighted on the expected date, Bakrid shifted to May 28.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram had already clarified that exams would be rescheduled if the Bakrid date changed — and they kept that promise. The Controller of Examinations issued an official notification on 26th May 2026 (Ref. No. 2105/U.G/Sem.-IV & IV/Exam/2026) with a complete revised timetable.
The bottom line: No change in exam centers. No change in timings. Only the date changed.

3 Things You MUST Know (Don’t Skip This!)
1. Your exam center has NOT changed.
Go to the same hall you were originally assigned. The official circular clearly states: “There is no change in center and timings of the examination.”
2. Only the postponed dates changed. Other exams remain on schedule.
If you have exams on other dates — those are happening as planned. Don’t assume everything shifted.
3. Two different new dates for different courses:
- Most B.Com, BBA, B.Sc Hons students: New date is 02 June 2026 (Tuesday)
- BA, B.Sc (regular), B.S.W students: New date is 25 June 2026 (Thursday)

You just got bonus days. Here’s how to not waste them:
For B.Com students (Business Statistics-II, Accounting Standards):
- Revision Day 1: Formulas and definitions — no shortcuts here
- Revision Day 2: Previous year question papers — spot the patterns
- Day before exam: Light revision only, sleep at least 7 hours
For B.Sc students (Physics – Waves & Optics / Optimization Techniques):
- Derivations and diagrams are king. Practice writing them out by hand
- Don’t ignore numericals — at least 2-3 guaranteed questions
For BA students (Economics – Indian Economy):
- Focus on government schemes, GDP, economic policies
- Short notes work better than reading the full textbook again

Q: My exam was on 28 May. What is my new date?
Depends on your course. B.Com, BBA, B.Sc Hons → 2 June 2026. BA, B.Sc (regular), BSW → 25 June 2026. Check the tables above.

No. Semester VI: 10 AM–1 PM. Semester IV: 2 PM–5 PM. Same as before.

No one likes uncertainty during exam season. But this reschedule was a respectful decision — giving students who celebrate Eid-ul-Adha the space to do so without stress.
