Step-by-Step DOST Registration Process (Step I: DOST ID Generation)

The first thing you need is a DOST ID. There are three ways to get one.

Method I: Aadhaar with Mobile OTP (Most Common)

If your Aadhaar number is already linked to your mobile number, you can register directly on the DOST website at dost.cgg.gov.in using mobile OTP authentication. This is the fastest method. If your Aadhaar is not linked to a mobile number, visit the nearest Aadhaar Update Centre to link your own or your parent’s mobile number first.

Method II: DOST Mobile App with Facial Recognition

This method is available only for students of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE). Here is how it works step by step:

  1. Download the DOST Mobile App from the DOST website onto your smartphone.
  2. Register your mobile number and enter the OTP received.
  3. Submit your personal details including name, date of birth, Aadhaar number and mobile number.
  4. The face recognition service will activate.
  5. When your live photo matches the system record, a DOST ID is automatically generated.
  6. You can then proceed to pay the registration fee of Rs.200 and fill the application form.

Method III: MeeSeva Centre with Biometric Authentication

Students can visit any MeeSeva Centre for Biometric Authentication (Fingerprint, Iris or Face) and complete their DOST registration there with staff assistance.

Step II: Registration Fee Payment

Once your DOST ID is generated, pay the registration fee as per the phase you are applying in:

PhaseFee
Phase I RegistrationRs.200
Phase II RegistrationRs.400
Phase III RegistrationRs.400

Payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, T Wallet, UPI, BillDesk or Atom Technologies (NTT Data).

After payment, you receive your DOST ID and PIN. Keep these two things absolutely safe and never share them with anyone. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made.

Step III: Filling the Application Form

Log in to dost.cgg.gov.in using your DOST ID and PIN and fill the Application Form with all required personal and academic details. Once you submit, the data cannot be edited. Double-check every field before submitting.

Step IV: Exercising Web Options (The Most Critical Step)

This is the most important step in the entire DOST process. After submitting the application, you must exercise web options, which means selecting your preferred colleges and courses and ranking them in order of priority.

Your seat allotment will happen based entirely on these priorities combined with your merit and reservation category. Think carefully before assigning priorities. You can choose multiple colleges and multiple courses. A single smart strategy here can land you in your dream college.

Step V: Seat Allotment

Seats are allotted based on your merit (marks in Intermediate), your chosen preferences in web options, and Government reservation policies.

About 90% of the students who submit web options are allotted a seat, and nearly 70-75% are able to successfully complete the admission process, making TS DOST one of the most dependable and transparent UG admission systems in Telangana.

If you are satisfied with the allotted seat: Complete online self-reporting and pay the confirmation fee online within the deadline.

If you are not satisfied: Pay the seat reservation fee and participate in the next phase (Phase II or Phase III) web options to try for a better seat.

Step VI: Physical Reporting to College

This is a step many students overlook and then lose their seat. Regardless of which phase you got your seat in, you must visit your allotted college in person between 20 June 2026 and 27 June 2026 to submit original certificates and pay the course fee. If you fail to do this, your seat will be cancelled with no exceptions.

Self-Reporting Fee Structure

Student TypeFee
Government or University College students eligible for ePass reimbursementExempted (Rs.0)
Private College students eligible for ePass reimbursementRs.500
Government, University or Private College students NOT eligible for ePassRs.1,000

Documents Required for Seat Allotment Under Reservation

If you are applying under a reservation category, keep the following documents ready:

  • MeeSeva Caste/EWS Certificate Number (including CND number and sub-caste), issued by the Government of Telangana, mandatory for reservation quota
  • Income Certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025 (valid only for DOST 2026-27)
